WHAT IS SELF DEVELOPMENT?

"Personal development or self improvement consists of activities that develop a person's capabilities and potential, build human capital, facilitate employability, and enhance quality of life and the realization of dreams and aspiration." - definition in the Cambridge English Dictionary". dictionary.cambridge.org. Retrieved 2020-12-10.

"Personal development may take place over the course of an individual's entire lifespan and is not limited to one stage of a person's life. It can include official and informal actions for developing others in roles such as teacher, guide, counselor, manager, coach, or mentor, and it is not restricted to self-help. When personal development takes place in the context of institutions, it refers to the methods, programs, tools, techniques, and assessment systems offered to support positive adult development at the individual level in organizations." - Bob Aubrey (2010), Managing Your Aspirations: Developing Personal Enterprise in the Global Workplace. McGraw-Hill

WHAT IS MBTI?

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a personality assessment tool used to identify an individual's psychological preferences for how they perceive and make decisions. It consists of a self-reported questionnaire that assigns values to four categories: introversion or extroversion, sensing or intuition, thinking or feeling, and judging or perceiving. These categories help to describe how a person approaches the world and processes information.

The MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) was developed by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myers, who were inspired by Carl Jung's book "Psychological Types." Isabel Briggs Myers was particularly interested in the idea of introversion, and she identified herself as an INFP (Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Perceiving). However, she believed that the book was too difficult for the general public to understand, so she attempted to rearrange Jung's cognitive functions in a way that would be more understandable.

According to Jung's theory of personality types, there are four cognitive functions (thinking, feeling, sensing, and intuition), each of which has a tendency towards either extroversion or introversion. This results in a total of eight dominant functions. The MBTI is based on these eight functions, although it differs somewhat from Jung's model in terms of how they are expressed. While there is empirical evidence to support the first three dichotomies in Jung's model, it is unclear whether the Briggs had evidence for the fourth dichotomy (judging vs. perceiving).

One of the main contributions of Myers and Briggs to Jung's theory was their idea that an individual's preferred extroverted function (either judging or perceiving) is indicated by their fourth letter in the MBTI type (J or P). This function is dominant for extroverted types and auxiliary for introverted types.

According to Jung's theory, the dominant function is like a captain at the helm, steering an individual's behavior and decision-making in their preferred environment - be it the outer world for extroverts or the inner world for introverts. Meanwhile, the other three functions play supporting roles, operating in the opposite orientation.

Jung's typology model sees psychological type as a kind of mental "handedness," in the same way that some people are left-handed and others are right-handed. Just as individuals are born with or develop certain preferred ways of using their hands, they also have innate or learned tendencies in terms of how they perceive and make decisions. The MBTI categorizes these psychological differences into four pairs of opposites, or "dichotomies," resulting in 16 possible psychological types. None of these types are considered inherently "better" or "worse"; however, Briggs and Myers believed that people naturally "prefer" certain combinations of these type differences.

WHAT IS HUMAN DESIGN SYSTEM?

The Human Design System is a unique blend of ancient wisdom and modern science that has been proven to be a valuable tool for self-discovery and understanding. By exploring your Human Design, you can uncover what makes you truly unique and gain insights into your psychology, as well as strategies and techniques for making better decisions and leading a more fulfilling life.

Unlike other systems that rely on belief or faith, Human Design is logical and empirical, allowing you to test its principles and see for yourself how they work in your own life. As you begin to experiment with this knowledge, you may find that your perspective shifts and evolves. Over time, this can help you discover what truly brings you fulfillment and contentment. By living in alignment with your true nature, you can tap into your innate Signature - whether it be peace, satisfaction, success, or surprise - and let go of resistance in the form of anger, frustration, bitterness, or disappointment.

The Human Design System uses your birth data to create a detailed map of your energy flow, known as the BodyGraph. This chart is a visual representation of how you operate and interact with the world, and it shows both your inherent qualities (known as Definition) and areas where you are open to outside influence (known as openness). Your Definition reflects your true nature and remains constant throughout your life, while your openness represents areas where you may be susceptible to conditioning and can fall into a state of "Not-Self."

By understanding your BodyGraph, you can gain access to simple tools like your Type and Authority, which can help you make better decisions and live in alignment with your true nature. As you begin to explore your Human Design, you may discover the powerful influence of your mind and how much your decisions have been shaped by external forces. With time and practice, using the strategies and techniques provided by Human Design can help you let go of limiting conditioning and experience a greater sense of fulfillment and satisfaction in your life.

WHAT IS EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE (EQ)?

Emotional intelligence is the capacity to recognize and understand both your own emotions and the emotions of others, as well as the ability to use this awareness to manage your own behavior and relationships effectively. It encompasses several key skills, including emotional awareness (the ability to identify and label your own emotions), the ability to use emotions to think and solve problems, and the ability to regulate and manage emotions - both your own and those of others. Emotional intelligence is a valuable quality that can help you navigate the complexities of human interaction and create more harmonious and fulfilling relationships.

Emotional intelligence is a crucial component of effective leadership, and according to Daniel Goleman, it is made up of five key elements: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills. By developing these skills, leaders can improve their emotional intelligence and increase their ability to navigate and succeed in the workplace.

By cultivating these skills, leaders can create more harmonious and productive work environments and achieve greater success.

WHAT IS THE SWOT ANALYSIS?

SWOT analysis is a powerful tool for assessing your or your business's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. It can help you identify what you or your company does well and where it could improve, as well as opportunities for growth and potential threats from competitors. By examining both internal and external factors, SWOT analysis can provide a comprehensive view of you or your business's current state and help you develop a strategic plan for the future. It can also help you challenge risky assumptions and uncover hidden vulnerabilities. By carefully and systematically evaluating all four elements of SWOT, you can gain valuable insights and make informed decisions that can help your business succeed.

HYPNOTHERAPY FOR PERSONAL GROWTH

Hypnotherapy for personal growth is a powerful tool that can help individuals access their subconscious mind to facilitate positive change in their lives. It involves inducing a trance-like state of deep relaxation and heightened focus, during which the therapist can suggest new positive thought patterns and behaviors to the client.

Hypnotherapy is highly effective for personal growth because it bypasses the critical, rational mind and accesses the subconscious, where deeply ingrained patterns and beliefs reside. These patterns and beliefs can often limit an individual's potential for growth and success, and hypnotherapy can help to identify and reframe them in a more positive light.

Research has shown that hypnotherapy can be an effective treatment for a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, phobias, and addictions. It can also be used to enhance performance in areas such as sports, public speaking, and academic or professional pursuits.

One of the greatest benefits of hypnotherapy for personal growth is its safety. Unlike some other forms of therapy or self-improvement techniques, hypnotherapy is non-invasive and has no negative side effects. In fact, many clients report feeling deeply relaxed and rejuvenated after a hypnotherapy session.

Hypnotherapy is also a collaborative process, with the client actively participating in their own transformation. The therapist serves as a guide, facilitating the client's own journey of self-discovery and growth.

Overall, hypnotherapy for personal growth is a powerful and safe tool that can help individuals tap into their full potential and achieve their goals. Whether you're looking to overcome a specific challenge or simply enhance your overall well-being, hypnotherapy can help you unlock the power of your subconscious mind and create positive change in your life.
